Twins

 Every year we have a set of twins.  Fun to watch like any other calf but they  are more work.  As you can see we made a trip the the barn.  After a cow has a calf she only expect one and for her to keep track of two,  it is hard.  She has to lay down and have the second calf and leave the first one alone.  Sometimes they forget to go back and find the other one as she is busy with the second one.  Off to the barn so they can bond as in all baby and mother relationship. Now they can learn to nurse at the same time and share a Mom.

    We have lot's of twins at our farm, and we prefer single baby calves, just because it is so much easier for the mommy. But nature is nature and we don't have a say in it, so we try too keep them (the mommies) as confortable as possible

    Aww, cute! We get dairy calves here on our ranch a few times a year and I'm always amazed when it happens:)

    I always kind of wish our cows would have twins - but normally just want at least one healthy breathing calf for the kids!
