Bale Fire

Where there is smoke there is fire.   They were all  together
This is how I spend my day on Monday watching our round bales burn up all 150 of them .   Our 1st cutting  great hay but for some reason  we no longer have hay and will have to find some to replace our loss. There were over 100 men and women  from 15 different Fire Departments fought this fire.   We had lots of help it started around 4:00 pm and it was after 11:00 when they all left.  The state hwy was closed for several hours. We know it is dry but a tree fell, caught the power line and you have a real blazer.      We can't thank the Fire Fighters enough for all they did for us yesterday.  This fire was contained to the South side of the railroad tracks which helped a lot.  In one of the pictures it show a secondary fire along the corn field but they got it out right away.   Take care and stay safe

    Oh my goodness!
    This gave me chills just looking at the photos! I"m so thankful everyone is alright and the fires are out.

    Wow, what a frightening situation. I'm so sorry for your loss and hope wish you luck with locating replacement hat. Glad to hear that everyone remained safe and that the community turned out to help.

    Oh Ann just another thing on the list this year - will be hoping and saying a prayer that you can find some hay at a reasonable price to replace what was lost - does insurance cover hay lost like that?
