Winter time
We can start with the weather snow is a gift from God so just enjoy the beauty that it give to us. There are a lot of other things that happen in our lives that are a lot worse so be thankful . This is my side yard, we have several drifts along the fence line at least they aren't where the birds feed.
This is a Downy Woodpecker female and below is the male they are a small bird but oh so pretty. She kept her eye out looking for something the whole time she was at the feeder. I thought maybe the wind bothered the birds eating today
Have a great week and be kind to each, other until next time

Dreaming
I am dreaming into the future. We all know in Indiana we have 4 seasons to choose from. My favorite is spring and fall but I will take the others to enjoy those two. It won't be long we will have our Master Gardener Garden show where you can buy the pansy like the one above. March 14 and 15 at Hoosier Harvest Church see you there that will be our first show of the year. The other pictures are ones I have had on here before but nice reminders of what to look forward too. Seed catalogs will be showing up in the mail boxes. Can't wait to plant my first tomato plant. Never buy a tomato in the winter just doesn't taste right. If someone has found one that is good I do like my tomatoes
The sun is shining but it looks cold out. I feed all my birds yesterday before this last snow storm so today I will just watch from inside. Farm report: Saw a coyote in the pasture guess he was looking for his dinner. All is quiet otherwise just the way we like it.
Take care and stay safe. Until we talk again

Backroads in Winter
These are beautiful to look at in magazines but when you are a farmer and this is reality. It was well below zero the day I shot these photos I was in the truck most of the time 5 minutes in the outside and my face was burning it was so cold. Our cattle have done well through this cold spell. Amazing how much of a temperature change there is in this protected area near the water. The cows say: Thank God for Sending me a Farmer. Enjoy the beauty that God has send us and take time with the children as they grow up way to fast. As always stay safe.

Christmas tree
Fern's ornament may their spirit join us for Christmas |
The Fair and Festival Convention is coming up this weekend get to see folks only a couple of times a year.
I haven't seen that snow they are calling for but I kind of wish it was March we would be on our way to spring. Flowering bulbs would be breaking through the ground.
Farm report Folks are still going through the fence. The guys have started cleaning out the barns, When you have animals they make fertilizer that is good for the soil. The calves get excited when you put down new straw.
Take care and be kind to each other
