Baby Birds

 I saw this little fellow out my kitchen window  Boy he sure is small well below is his brother  the one would sleep and the other keep an eye out for Mom.  These are sparrows but this Mother bird worked so hard to feed these two is was amazing to see. Just had to post this today  Hope you all enjoy it.

Farm report this weather is horrible we just work by the hour.  Our corn is planted and sprayed but I hope we can get some beans planted real  soon.    Made 2 passes around the hay field got it baled.

Ann's Musings

 

Just thought I would share a  few words and some pictures with you.  Life is so busy sometimes we don't have time to do the things we really want to do  I went to St Charles Ill last week and I just can't get in the swing of how I am suppose to get everything done and have time to Blog.  Now that the grass is growing it is going to take more of my play time.  I heard a lady tell a group of ladies that when she got married they had a deal I take care of the inside and you take care of the outside.  How many of you have that deal???
I do enjoy mowing the yard and being the gardener. So I don't want an agreement like that just need to have a housekeeper to help.  Got bad new that a friend is really sick so if you have time say a prayer for him and let God do the healing. If he leaves us maybe he can send  some butterflies to let us know he is home

News from the Farm

 This Robin looks  fine and she has some baby Robins.  But her nest went for a ride on the trailer back in April for a few hours.  At that time there weren't any eggs.  So when the trailer came back so did the bird. 
She is on top of the battery. not the best place.  I am sure like us many of you have them build a nest on a piece of equipment in the spring before you can go to the field.  Every year I would see  a nest that they had to remove.    We have tried to relocate but they never come back.

 The fragrance in my yard is intoxicating but the flowers are beautiful after the winter and spring we have had

Here is sitting bull waiting to see the girls  look like he has a tooth pick hanging out of his mouth. We had another bull that would sit like that don't know why
 We have done almost everything but not planted one acre of corn or soybeans  I almost think the guys are over being on the edge they are chilling and doing what they can
We had a well  pump go out at the barn had to fix.   Cleaning up from the river made a deposit of trees and logs,  peoples trash from up river.  Bulldozing  sand deposits  from the river.   River water  can change your land overnight but you just do what needs to be done and go back every year and plant the crop

Tomorrow I get to attend a blogging meeting with the gals I started blogging with they are way ahead of me and are computer savy.

Eagle Built

 I have been waiting for this day  to be able to view what many have told me about the sighting of the Eagles that live along White River.  A few years I was at Bradford Wood when the SCI REMC placed a platform for the Eagles at that location along the RR near White River to keep them off the power poles they will build on them regardless of the danger they want to be high above the ground.

 I think this tree is dead the others are getting their leaves and may cover the tree as we go into summer.

 This Eagle flew around and was gone for a while and they came back and stood watch.   He didn't have any food to share I will continue to watch and report back .He is above the nest 

This  nest that is on the ground  was spotted while mushroom hunting.  Need to go back and see who it belongs to.  . There were 5 egg very small nest maybe 2 to 3 inches across and made of grasses. Could be a nuthatch  saw one in the area

The Grosbeak is still here hanging out.  I also had some Hummingbird activity over the weekend will get some pictures soon.
